Continental`s current winter tyre range for cars and 4x4 vehicles

Continental`s current winter tyre range for cars and 4x4 vehicles
The new ContiWinterContact TS 830 is the highlight of Continental's winter tyre portfolio. This tyre was designed for extremely short braking distances on all wintry roads and specially co-ordinated with electronic safety systems, ensuring it mobilises high safety reserves in snow, ice and wet weather.

NEW - ContiWinterContact TS 830, the dedicated winter tyre specifically designed for medium range and luxury cars

Continental's newly-introduced ContiWinterContact TS 830 is a top-class, balanced winter tyre. Thanks to use of the latest technologies, including special co-ordination with electronic safety systems such as ESC, this dedicated winter tyre displays best braking performance, whatever the weather conditions. The new 'DirectDrain' contour concept resolves the conflict of objectives between safety in the wet and winter characteristics typically encountered on directionally-orientated tyres. Combining the maximum number of lateral edges in the running direction of the tyre with the 'DirectDrain' contour optimises the winter characteristics of vehicles with ESC and, at the same time, shortens the drainage paths through the use of arrow-shaped grooves and a comparatively narrow ground contact patch. A stabilising tread pattern base support increases lateral stiffness, improves handling on dry roads and reduces rolling resistance. The tread area is sub-divided according to functions - large numbers of sipes in the tread centre improve grip on ice, whilst the many tread block edges in the shoulder ensure the tyre interlocks firmly with snow, thereby achieving improved grip. By maximising the formation of gripping edges, the braking effect on ice and wet roads is outstanding. The characteristic is reinforced by the use of a new compound technology (H.A.F.T. - Hydrophile Adhesion Fluid Technology), which transmits additional forces between rubber and water. This has benefits on icy roads, because a very thin film of water forms behind the gripping edge. The rolling resistance of this tyre is no greater than that of summer tyres, so it also achieves the same values as they do in terms of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The tyre is available in 18 different sizes for speeds of up to 210 km/h (131 mph).

ContiWinterContact TS 810 Sport - the dedicated winter tyre for fast, sporty cars

The ContiWinterContact TS 810 Sport resolves the conflict of objectives arising between approval for high speeds, best handling features and good grip in the wet on the one hand and excellent driving characteristics on wintry roads on the other. This is achieved by using an asymmetrical tread pattern concept in conjunction with an innovative tread compound. The ribbed structure with stiffer shoulder blocks and T-shaped sipes ensures increased stiffness in circumferential and lateral direction, thereby improving braking on dry roads. This dedicated winter tyre is designed for speeds of up to 270 km/h (168 mph). It is available in 13 sizes up to 19", which also makes it suitable for powerful saloons and sports cars like the Porsche 911 Carrera/S.

ContiWinterContact TS 800 - greater safety in winter for compact cars

The ContiWinterContact TS 800 was specifically designed for compact cars such as the VW Polo, Ford Fiesta and Opel Corsa. Its most conspicuous feature is its advanced, elongated honeycomb-shaped sipe. This ensures safe driving characteristics on dry roads, as well as extremely good grip when cornering in snow. Thanks to the arrow-shaped rib structure, which means fast water dispersion, the ContiWinterContact TS 800 offers high safety in the wet. The compact tread blocks ensure the tyre achieves the largest possible contact patch, resulting in short braking distances on icy roads. There are 21 sizes available, with a maximum width of 195 millimetres. The tyre is approved for speeds of up to 190 km/h (118 mph).

ContiCrossContact Winter - designed specifically for fast and heavy 4x4 vehicles

The ContiCrossContact Winter is a dedicated cold weather tyre developed for fast and heavy all-wheel-drive vehicles. The advanced silica compound and the tread block design with its many sipes ensure excellent traction and braking performance. The sturdy outer shoulder features an optimised sipe concept, which gives it outstanding driving characteristics on dry roads. Wide drainage channels and flow-optimised tread pattern sipes in the outer shoulder improve aquaplaning characteristics, dispersing water and slush reliably from the tread. The size range extends to 21". This tyre is approved for speeds of up to 240 km/h (150 mph) and is available in 26 sizes up to 295/35 R 21 V XL.

Conti4x4WinterContact - top braking values for fast and heavy 4x4 vehicles

The predecessor of the ContiCrossContact Winter is still available. The developers have given the Conti4x4WinterContact an improved silica compound for enhanced performance in snow and ice, resulting in excellent traction and braking values on wintry roads. As with the ContiCrossContact Winter, the special sipe concept on this tyre also helps to further strengthen the outer shoulder, bringing about a more direct transmission of forces to the ground contact patch. Flow-optimised tread pattern sipes in the outer shoulder ensure high aquaplaning safety. The tyres are available for 15"-19" rims, with a total of 22 sizes ranging from 195/80 R 15 T to 255/50 R 19 V XL; the Conti4x4WinterContact is approved for speeds of up to 190 km/h (118 mph).
