Auto Zeitung magazine tests 4x4 tires: ContiCrossContact UHP awarded best in test for off-road tires

The specialists from Auto Zeitung tested the six tire models under real-life conditions, which involved subjecting them to sand and gravel, wet slopes and dry road conditions. The tires were also assessed in terms of comfort. The editors placed particular emphasis on safety-related handling characteristics. Braking distances, for example, were evaluated on a special test area designed to simulate the road conditions at intersections. At such locations, the asphalt tends to become worn more quickly than on “normal” stretches of road. Overall, the ContiCrossContact UHP won points for what the magazine described as its “balanced” characteristics. As the specialists summed up, “It continues to hold a place amongst the top flight and does not demonstrate any shortcomings”.
The ContiCrossContact UHP also performs well at the price determined by Auto Zeitung. Despite its outstanding characteristics, the tire developed in Hanover is close to the average price of the tires on test at 710 euro for a complete set.
